THE MOOSE HALL STORY
Our journey began in Portishead back in 2017. We opened our first clinic with the aim of bringing the power of Chiropractic into a comfortable, informal & relaxed clinic setting. In 2020 we opened our second clinic in Chippenham.

Sam developed her passion for chiropractic from a personal experience with treatment. At the age of 13 she suffered from debilitating migraines. At first the only answer was a lifetime of medication but then her parents discovered chiropractic and her migraines were relieved through treatment on her neck.
Chiropractic then became a normal part of life for Sam and the rest of her family - from her younger brother to her grandparents all seeking help for a range of conditions and general health.
Throughout her career, Sam has helped people of all ages from new born babies to her oldest patient at 97. She loves to see people become healthier through the help of chiropractic and is always happy to discuss anyone’s individual needs.
She has a deep interest in the mind-body connection, particularly how trauma & mental health impact physical well-being. She loves seeing how chiropractic care supports the body’s ability to heal. Alongside her work, Sophie is also an instructor at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. In her spare time, Sophie strives for optimal health & wellness with weightlifting and her Peloton. Most importantly, her greatest motivation is her young family, whom she loves and dedicates herself to every day.

Matt has always had a passion for sports and being active. Naturally he wanted to get the best out of his body and he used chiropractic to achieve this when on the rugby field. As a 6 year old his dad took him and his brother to their local rugby club and that was it, he was hooked. Since then his dedication led him to play international rugby and he now plays locally in Bristol.
Matt is enthusiastic about achieving a healthy balanced lifestyle. Combining his knowledge and passion for sports with his clinical and chiropractic expertise, Matt’s aim is to provide an environment in which he can help his patients reach their personal goals. He is always happy to discuss all parts of your health and any problems or concerns you may have.

Sophie has always been fascinated by the human body & driven to help others. After earning a degree in biomedical sciences, she spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical & medical device industries. After the birth of her daughter, she stepped away from the corporate world to pursue hands-on healing through sports massage. She then became a soft tissue therapist and opened her own clinic, before retraining as a chiropractor, where she has finally found her true calling—helping patients achieve optimal health.
Growing up, Sophie had always been involved in sport and fitness, training and competing nationally in Synchronised swimming, while also having a big interest in personal health and wellbeing. Sophie was drawn to the role at Moose Hall as it gives her the opportunity to work in an environment which takes the holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
After being diagnosed with Scoliosis in her early teens, Sophie understands the impact that long term pain can have - physically, mentally and emotionally. Being able to empathise with new patients, and see first hand the benefits that Chiropractic care has had for existing patients, further boosts her passion for working in the clinic & within the Chiropractic world.

Ian had his first Chiropractic adjustment while he was working as a ski guide. He was surprised to discover that the impact of a vehicle mine blast, from which he walked away years before, was affecting his skiing.
The improvements he saw after he started receiving regular care - not only in his skiing performance, but in his overall health and happiness - was more than enough to inspire him to become a Chiropractor.
20 years later, Ian still skis with passion, runs and enjoys a happy and healthy life thanks to regular Chiropractic care and the love and support of a long suffering wife and two young girls.
Drawing from his experiences, Ian has gone on to share the benefits of Chiropractic care with people of all ages and fitness levels, helping them to achieve greater health and happiness. He is delighted to join the Moose Hall team and serve the Chippenham community.

Matt first discovered Chiropractic after injuring his back during a snowboarding holiday. After months of living on painkillers and struggling to find anything that helped, he found Chiropractic. Within weeks he was feeling improvements and was soon able to return to his work as an outdoor instructor.
This experience had such a profound effect on him - both physically, and in terms of his understanding of how the body works - that he decided to change career and become a Chiropractor.
Over the last decade, he has adjusted thousands of people - from his newborn daughter to athletes and people in their 90s. Matt believes in enhancing the natural normal function of the body and nerve system, with regular adjustments and healthy living. His goal is to help his patients bodies function with more ease, and he loves to bring his knowledge and experience to support others in living more of the life they want.

Freya’s passion for chiropractic began when she received treatment for chronic headaches. At the time, she was studying pharmacology at university, but found that medications weren’t providing the relief she needed. It was chiropractic care that made a real difference, and Freya was amazed by how this hands-on, natural approach was the only thing that completely resolved her problem. This experience sparked her passion for chiropractic, particularly in helping others find relief from similar issues.
After working in Bristol for several years, Freya is excited to now be working here at Moose Hall in Chippenham. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of helping patients of all ages - whether they’re aiming to achieve peak performance in the gym or simply enjoy everyday activities like walking the dog.
Outside of the clinic, Freya enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active in the gym, and traveling whenever she can. She believes in the importance of maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle, and views chiropractic care as an integral part of that.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
There are many different types of Chiropractic, with varying approaches and philosophies. Many people rule out Chiropractic entirely and think its ‘not for them’, because of a negative past experience or a lack of results. But this doesn’t mean that it can’t work for you – it may just mean that you haven’t found the clinic or Chiropractor best suited to your unique needs.
Ongoing vs One-Off Treatments
There are many Chiropractors out there who recommend adjustments as a ‘fix’ for pain or injuries. They may only request to see patients once or twice to address their specific problems, without recommending any on-going care. Whilst there is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach, it’s not quite how we work at Moose Hall.
We believe in the power of Chiropractic not just as a cure, but for pain and injury prevention too. We see our clients regularly in order to address any pain or injuries they are experiencing as well as helping them reach and maintain optimal health.
And we practise what we preach! Each of our Chiropractors receives adjustments on a weekly basis, and we encourage our families and friends to come and see us regularly too! We view Chiropractic simply as a part of our healthy lifestyles, alongside regular exercise and eating well.
The Science-y Bit
The spinal cord is a key pathway for communication between the brain and all parts of the body. When there is an injury to the spinal cord or the spine is mis-aligned, the information being passed from the brain to the body may be disrupted. Chiropractic adjustments focus on restoring alignment of the spine - and we believe that when everything is aligned, the brain and body can communicate effectively and work as they are supposed to.
